On Saturday 27th May the newly formed U11 Basketball squad headed out to Ascot
International school to take part in the FUNdamentality Basketball Tournament. This was a fantastic opportunity for the Basketball squad to compete against other schools and gain experience at a competitive level as a team.
The team played three games throughout the round robin match ups and got better as each game went on. In game one there were a few nerves and the team was just beginning to put their game play into action. In game two the team came out firing and put on a fantastic display of defense, working as a team and putting a lot more shots up.Their final game saw them go up against a very physical team and one that was making some tough shots look very easy. Many other teams may have been a bit intimidated by this but not the AISB team. They came out and put on a great show of teamwork, and ended to end game play. They even had the whole crowd backing them throughout.
It was a fantastic atmosphere to witness and the team played exceptionally well and represented themselves and the school on a very high level.
We would like to acknowledge and say thank you to all the parents that came out to support the team and a massive thank you to Coach Rob and Coach Boogie for their exceptional coaching and care for every member of the team. The basketball team is very lucky to have such dedicated and caring coaches.
